There are entry level positions that have a series of “skills” or milestones you have to meet to gain a very small pay increase but in a short amount of time. The goal is to get an entry level employee up to a higher entry wage but only after they take steps to invest in their employment. There are also grants and partnerships with some state departments aimed at hiring an unemployed person and offering the, skill training while increasing their entry level wages.

What am I missing here? He’s a student that’s worked his way up to $15 an hour while he’s in school. I know making jokes about money on here is the thing to do for some posters, but I also know $15 an hour compared to $12 an hour even in 2023 is the difference between past due bills VS bills that might be paid on time, for a large segment of this country’s population. I’ll never hate on someone that goes to work, takes care of family, and pays their way in life.
