When cutting carbs, you must increase your plant/animal fat intake. The idea behind this is so that your body will use ketones produced from burning fat for energy rather than glucose from carbs. Try to stay with in 70 to 80% of your diet from healthy fats, 5-10% carbs and 15-20% protein...that is a basic macro for ketosis.

If you really want to do keto then that's fine, but pretending it is "must" do is ridiculous.
You can have a perfectly healthy diet without getting into the keto stuff. It has significantly better long term adherence too.

I didn't say the Keto diet is a must to be healthy, nor do I try to "pretend" as you say, that you must do keto to be healthy. All I said was, is if you are cutting out carbs, you have to increase your healthy fat intake to give your body fuel for energy. Once you deplete your glycogen stores, and don't increase your fat intake to give your body fuel, it will start eating itself because it doesn't have anything to fuel it but muscle tissue. That's all I was saying.
