Be thankful in all your trials because they will increase your strength and your reward.
I know of this and I know whom you reference. She is quite the woman.

People rationalize things the thing best they can to keep going.

It brought her closer to god?
If a guy sees a rape or abuse happening and does nothing to try and stop it then he is considered a piece of shite. God watches tape and abuse happening every day when he has the power to stop it and people just shrug and say we don't know his plan. The mental gymnastics that religious folks go through to make sense of the world is insane. I used to be extremely religious so I know first hand lol

Do you have special powers? Curious to know.

Her theory is bad things happen, God got her through it and she’s stronger for it.
Take God out of the equation. This isn’t a religious thread, it’s about people bouncing back with life shattering trauma. This was just her way of dealing with it. How people can rationalize something so horrible and use it to be a better person. God or no God.

That makes a little more sense. Good for her for dealing with it, some folks need religion and it helps as a coping mechanism but it still baffles me

I'm remarkably average. I guess my super power is being able to throw balls of paper in to a trash can at work and never miss.

She said that she’s a better person for it and it brought her closer to God. She believes because of it she can relate to other victims and what satan meant for harm God has worked it out for good.
This makes absolutely no sense except for in the mind of someone who’s been terribly traumatized. It’s hard for us to accept that evil people often go unpunished. She tricked herself into believing what she does because the alternative is often too painful to bear.

Admittedly I'm having faith issues lately. I can't understand why A loving God would allow innocent children to be raped.
He wouldn’t.

If you don't use mental gymnastics to make sense of the world, you're incapable of critical thought.

If we are being honest, there are strong and there are weak. The strong find ways of making everything work in their favor.

Yeah, but whether it be religious or science some people cannot admit that they don't know something. It is easier for some to believe (without willing to admit they might be wrong) that the big bang is absolute fact or that God frickd a woman who gave birth to him who was then tortured and killed by humans to save us from the sins of our ancestors.
I think a lot of people would find peace in being able to admit "I don't know"

The issue is we are all wired very differently and our perceptions of reality aren't the same, and never will be. Whatever gives someone peace and contentment is a good thing.
