I had a similar situation when I lived in Florida. Wife was scheduled to give birth to son #2 3 days after XLI. I regret not going for two big reasons. The D-Hes kick return to start the game and the Prince halftime show. In all fairness she did let me go (despite son #1 being an emergency birth 6 weeks early) and that trip will be in my memory in my final moments in this world.

It's why despite being hardly able to stand up straight I still keep my Bears season tickets and take each of them to a game every year.
