quote:was it Melissa? I know she got arrested here in BR a while back.
Had a woman ask me for $30.00 when I stopped in Alec on Air Base Rd.

I'm pretty sure that was her.
She must be making her way up I-49. She said I could hold her military ID until she mailed me my money back. We argued with her bit and left shaking our heads.
We let our kids observe the convo. and had a good talk about con artists on the way back home.

quote:she is very aggressive and confrontational. You need to contact Alec po-po and let em know about her. Once she's in an area she's there to stay and will frick over a bunch of people.

She gets up in your personal space to make you uncomfortable. It works well on some people and they probably give her a few dollars just to get out of the awkward situation.
We saw her back in November. If she she is still in that location, she might be hauling it in. A lot of people from out of state stop there.

This story reminds me of the little old lady back in the early 90s that used to panhandle in front of the Holiday Inn on Airline. She had a sign that said she needed money to get to Houston. She was out there for months.
One day I was driving down Veterans Blvd in Metairie and low and behold there she is....still holding the same sign.
I just laughed and thought: "you're going the wrong way" !!!!!

There are dozens of people like her in SF every frickin day.
Can't believe this chick is causing such a stir. She's showed up on my facebook feed for the last 2 weeks. Just ignore the damn lady. Someone is giving her money or she wouldn't still be there.

This also applies to that sack of shite that walks around downtown Nola with the hats saying he works for some organization (American Hunger or something). He's a con artist
Everyone in America knows that.

Well done.
Lol, what a world we live in, perception is upside down and backwards. We were all taught that hard work and self sacrifice is a virtue. Wrong ! Random events and meetings don't happen. You bump into this woman because you invited her into your experience.
Every meeting is carefully planned and an opportunity for good, instead we have this authority problem, like as if we created ourselves, and must defend everything we have including our lives. Have you heard the phrase " Resist not evil" ? It's not about religion or morality, it's about what works. The importance is not in what happens to the gift, but in the giving. I assure you, we give and take, but to and from ourselves.
I don't say any of this from a self righteous perspective, I'm just saying we have it all wrong, every bit of it, Lol. We wonder why things are out of control in this world? We only have our on delusional thinking to blame, not this selfish little lady, or terrorists, but us, you and I. True story
