Replace the word “government” with “society” and it’s easier to consider the benefits of having a legal framework for something as significant as marriage. I’m not saying it’s perfect (it’s clearly not) but believing that nothing about your marriage is a public matter is childlike thinking.
Yeah….like I said. The government is choosing to tax you more than they need.
