Depends on how good the story is and how good they tell it. I had some great uncles who would tell the same stories every time they got together. I'd love to hear them all again.

One co-worker anecdote stands out:
Basically, we were discussing beautiful women and I was telling him about the most beautiful girl'I had ever dated, who was stunning but boring, and had eventually broke up with her for a relatively less attractive girl but whose personality was so funny/full-of-life, it made her gorgeous. I told him I later read a chapter in one of Bill Maher's books that was literally titled: "Show Me the Most Beautiful Girl in the World, and I'll Show You the Guy Who is Tired of fricking Her." It hilariously confirmed my life-lesson experience.
Fast-forward just a month later, when discussing beautiful women again, he tells me, "Hey I have this old saying, 'Show me the most beautiful girl in the world, and I'll show you the guy who is tired of fricking her'." I wanted to go, "No, mother fricker, I told you that. And it ain't even mine. It's from Bill fricking Maher!" But I didn't even say anything. I just smiled knowingly.
Over the course of 6 years, I heard him re-tell either me or another co-worker "his" sage advice at least 4 times. It's actually pretty comical. Who knows how many times he said it when I wasn't around.
