Asymptomatic people have done plenty to spread the virus.

Pretty sure that has been disproved. IIRC the chances of getting it from an asymptomatic person is very small.

and no one around me is getting sick

How do you know?

Because I see them all the time and they aren't sick.

Why do you just assume that everyone has COVID

I never suggested that everyone has covid. I just think it's a stupid argument for you to say that you shouldn't have to wear a mask if you're not symptomatic. That's not how it works.

So I don't feel bad and no one that I hang out with is getting sick but I should still wear a mask just because? That is not how freedom works.

Because wearing a mask is like putting up a fence to keep the mosquitoes out of your yard.

Would be a good analogy if the mosquitos couldn't fly and travelled around on baseballs, which fences typically do a good job at stopping.

They attack cells. You're saying a cell is a baseball?

I think he's saying that spittle is the baseball.

Even if he is talking about saliva, it's at a level much smaller than that. The saliva might be the medium that carries the virus, but the virus itself is much smaller than the cotton fabric weaves that supposedly protects it from spreading, so ultimately it's going to choose the path of least resistance.

I don't know what's accurate and what's not anymore so I don't really argue either way. Just thought you were misunderstanding him.

Oh yeah, I wasn't getting aggressive or smartass with you.

I think the problem is that the so called "experts" don't really know what's accurate/not either. They rested their laurels on the mask mandate and social distancing thing, and this latest spike kind of blew that out the water as an absolute solution. So now they're at a loss and trying to back pedal their way so they don't look like incompetent. And at the same time, they're stringing along Joe Q. Public as though we're a bunch of mindless apes telling us to continue to lock down and wear masks and socially distance. Even though all current evidence points to none of that really preventing the spread. You don't need a medical degree to have just a basic working knowledge to understand things here, you know?

Do you put up this much of a fight over having to wear pants?
