As all of us going westbound doing 80 mph because all the cops were on the other side of the bridge passed the 5 mile long parking lot on the eastbound side, I almost felt sorry for those immobile bastards.

Settle in. You're likely going to be there a while unless they open the crossovers. It looked like one of those modular jobsite buildings started to come off its trailer. It was pulled off kinda onto the shoulder all cockeyed and it looked like there were also some cars about a quarter mile behind the trailer that were also involved. One of them was sideways in the middle of I-10 and it looked like a couple more were behind that might have been involved, though it might have also just been people that stopped to help. Cops were hauling arse the wrong way on I-10 EB to get to the scene when I crossed the basin. It's the weirdest thing looking over and seeing someone on the other side pacing you.

ETA: Just checked. DOTD's Twitter claims both lanes are now open, but the backup is 14 miles long. It'll just take a while to clear, but you should be moving again soonish. Maybe.

ETATA: DOTD lied. Now they're saying the right lane is blocked and the backup is now 15 miles. You're gonna grow old and die on that bridge. Hopefully you can meet a nice girl somewhere in that parking lot and start a bridge family and raise some cute bridge babies.

Some dudes at GT made a nice chunk of change selling coffee and hot chocolate on the I75/85 ATL connector during an ice storm back in the early 80's, not a bad idea.

Of course they lived near the freeway, not liked they carried around 5 gallon buckets of it or anything.
