I guess my question would be why would someone who believes their child is just another life form produced by random/chance, mindless, meaningless, purposeless and goalless naturalistic mechanisms acting on an alleged single life form of long long ago wish for their child to be baptized?

You can do one or the other but not both. But by all means, continue to fool yourself with Satan's "science".
