And here we go again:

Iberville the most logical place for new Mississippi River bridge, parish-sponsored study finds

quote:

The study, conducted by Baton Rouge engineering firm Neel-Schaffer, asserts a new bridge located in Iberville would have the greatest impact on reducing traffic along La. 1 and the Interstate 10 Mississippi River bridge — two pressure points for daily traffic snarls in West Baton Rouge Parish.

And for the record I was always a fan of a northern loop but I think that ship has sailed.

Northern loop is dumb

Bridge should be north of plaquemine. Connect to i10 just east of grosse tete. Connect back to i10 below highland and i 12 around walker

That's gonna take 20 years

The only solution right now and it's temporary is to have all truckers take the older Mississippi bridge.

the last study done by EBR firms found the northern loop going through EBR was the most logical, and now a WBR-sponsored study finds that a bridge in WBR is the most logical.

That's basically how I envision it. It needs to be well south of Baton Rouge and Denham Springs.

Surprising. Never would have expected that outcome, based on who paid for it. Oh wait

Of course it is.

Putting a new bridge South of I-10 in West Baton Rouge doesn't make much sense... it's too close to the existing ones, and it will be more difficult to connect to I-10.

Their great grandkids will appreciate building it, and their grandkids will appreciate demolishing it once it collapses due to obsolescence.

FIFY.

I don't even think you could make a connection to i10 in wbr or Iberville it would have to be the river road

Well it would obviously connect to River Road then Nicholson then on to I-10.

In Iberville it would have to go over the Spanish Lake swamp area, which would be a pain, but at least is very sparsely populated, then connect to I-10 in Ascension.

If a bridge crossed over from WBR, it would end up connecting to Nicholson somewhere around L'Auberge, then it would have to tear through some neighborhoods and go through that same swampy area to connect to I-10 again just into Ascension.

If it went across Spanish lake there would be a new place for serial killers to dump bodies which would keep Rodie busy looking for the summabitches.
