Anyone have experience with any companies that pay you while you train for it?

DDA takes too long. Plus, they don’t pay you while you train. I can’t just go to them because I like the song.

Way to swing for the fences

If you are looking to get a job driving trucks, most companies will pay for your training. If you are already working somewhere and want to get it, just practice parking and study the material on your own.
If you have drug or dwi problems, forget about it....

Not sure about your training question but once you get it all lined out, just head to Midland. They advertise the need for drivers 24/7. You're the commodity.

Once you get it, go out to Midland and you can seriously make six figures right now (for now). Unbelievable shortage of truckers right nationwide, and it's insane in that part of the country specifically.

Sounds like I need a career change

Yeah if $200-$300K isn’t swinging for the fence, I don’t know what is.

Yep some are making $100/hr right now after they split with the co, so you can do the math on what that equates to annually. But I'm sure the guy mocking you is really swinging for the fences with his middling job in NOLA or whatever.
That's not to say this will last. There's a perfect storm of factors right now benefiting that, allowing trucking companies to print money. Also some cons to living there, etc.

And most of it is sand and water hauling.

Yeah and emerging lack of crude takeaway capacity was like throwing gasoline on the fire. That part will abate within a year-18 months though.

I would need to see a link or legit ad indicating drivers getting $100 an hour. If all it took to pull down $200-$300k was a CDL, there would be applicants lined up out the door. Midland, TX or not.

No company driver is making that. Stop with that lie.
Owner operator yes

Maybe I'm misremembering... but the number my friend told me was 80/20 economics at north of 100 an hr.

Can make 110-120 in the perfect environment. But with downtime, etc it’s never perfect out there. It’s a rat race with a lot of cut throats.
They will tell you anything to get you out to that hell hole. They did the same thing years back in North Dakota.
Eta. Once they have of abundance of drivers and trucks the rates will come way down.
OP, go to Schneider bulk, let them train you on tanker. Get experience, work with them for a couple years and keep nose clean, then apply for multiple private fleets in chemical manufacturing.
