It works on dogs, but it takes a fire to remove skunks.
Bout 20 years ago, I bought some fire crackers to "train" my neighbor's dog. The wood fence was about 2' from our driveway/parking pad. The dog would go ballistic every time we pulled in and would continue for about 10 minutes. He would also chew and jump on the fence, scaring my wife. It only took two crackers and a loud "no", for the "training" to work.
Bout 6 months later, a skunk got into our garage under the door that my wife would leave partially open for her cats. When I got home after dark, I checked it out, and the skunk had set up under my work bench. I thought about waiting until the morning to call animal control, but decided that since I had become an amateur animal controller, that I would try my method first. I opened the kitchen door and lobbed a few crackers into the garage. THEN, I realized that the skunk may spray the garage, so I stopped. Later as we were about to bed down, my wife went to the kitchen and smelled smoke, and the door handle was hot. Lost everything in the garage, saved the house, AND got rid of the skunk.

If you live so close to a barking dog that it annoys you, maybe its time to move on some acreage and not a small lot.
Lmao no. Maybe it's time for you to be a considerate/responsible dog owner. If not, you should give the dog to someone that will be
