The big box store pharmacist is also someone's neighbor, coach, dad, etc. And your pharmacist certainly doesn't have that relationship with every patient.
I get why people dislike corporate healthcare, but the people who work there still mostly care.
It's not that those employees don't care. It's that they are burdened by corporate metrics and understaffing that makes their jobs a living hell. They don't answer the phone because they literally don't have time. A pharmacist will walk into a shift with 1000 scripts in their fill queue and leave their shift with 1200 scripts in their fill queue because corporate will not adequately staff the stores. They literally do not care about the employees. It's a shame, really. I don't hate the people, I hate the business.
I'll find a new career before I ever go work for Walgreens or CVS.

if you just say a few cuss words all AI are trained to treat that as “anger” and escalate you to a real person
This is true. I have implemented the software.
It is known as "real-time sentiment analysis."
If the AI detects an unhappy customer, it will get you to a real person.
Or, if you are already talking to a real person, it will alert a supervisor if "sentient" goes negative.

They have people constantly answering phones and providing consultations. They're patient as hell with the old and poor folks. I've never had to wait in line more than 10-15 minutes for a prescription either (and that is rare).

Im a provider. Most CVSs and Walgreens don’t answer to anyone.
Find a local independent pharmacy that cares about your business.
Sorry Dr Provider, that just not true- being overworked and under-staffed does not mean not caring for your business.

Or do business with a better pharmacy than walgreens or cvs.
My wife made a mint thanks to their shite service and prices. Find a good independent.

Do we really need the "If this is an emergency, hang up and call 911" from the automated phone every time we call the pharmacy?
Thank you plaintiff lawyers
