Someone needs to post that Socrates quote for those shitting on Generation Y.

quote:

“Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.”

I think its easy to generalize. I'm not far removed from lsu and still have friends and a younger sibling that are still in college. Sure you could say some of the 80s babies could go either way but the 90s kids really are diff. Drugs, music, dress is all diff with less than a 10 year age gap. I do find these kids to reliant on computers and cell phones because they were everywhere by the time they were old enough to know the diff. Also could be higher divorce rates and such. Seems like a lot of these kids have split house holds. The pc and media turning them into pussies. I still remember getting paddled by the principal in elementary school. Overall they are just lazy.

Although I am impressed by the creativity of those under 40. And the fact that their demographic is driving the legalization of pot. For that reason only they will always have a special place in my heart.

I just don't know why more older people dont stand up for legalization. My parents are in their sixties and smoke.

Generation Y is a bunch of lazy entitled punks

Millennials have been brought into the absolute worst time to be an American. The dumb frick Baby Boomers have managed to ruin everything. Xers at least got into the job market before it went to shite

I love how old fricks want to comment on how lazy Gen Y is and how they're all saying at home and can't get jobs when it's their own god damned fault

Plus, congrats on the huge tuition inflation and not correspondingly inflating wages. That'll surely help out Gen Y

Most who grew up in the 60's and 70's in the South were working class or grew up poor. We worked our way out without having it handed to us.

Getting a scholarship is having it handed to you?

And yeah, I'm sure all the young people are having it handed it to them, what with all the unemployment and debt they're facing

Don't believe I stated anything remotely close to this.

We didn't have family money to rely on. It was working while going to college to pay tuition and bills for most of us. A scholarship is earned

Do what I did. Work 40-50 hours a week in a steel shop while going to college. You'll be happy when you graduate with no debt. $3.10 an hour is nothing to brag about but it left me with no debt.

Boy, your lack of success is no one's fault but your own. If you didn't spend all your time crying on the Internet about what a raw deal your ancestors left you, and instead got off your arse and set about making something of yourself , you wouldn't be so goddamn miserable.

Let's see, my kids are X'ers and very successful and I am (well look at that) a Boomer and proud of it. You can bet my grandkids won't be a bunch of whiny little bitches like you.

Rant finished. Carry on.
