No one here is saying that you can't be educated and religious. It is a lot easier to be religious if you are uneducated.

Education has never been a threat to the Christian Faith.. tho there have been those that have thought that..

I leave this quote for you to consider...

“The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you.”

That's very vacuous. Care to elaborate? Do you count churches, preachers/priests as a threat to religion.

Those who commit fraud and pretend to be men of God in order to steal from people (see Jimmy Swaggart) really damage Christianity for everyone.

Those who use their positions in the church to abuse others (Catholic molestation scandals) absolutely hurt Christianity.

Anything involving the church that shows church personnel as corrupt, greedy, or evil drives people away.

That is true, but definitely not the biggest threat. Everyone understands there's always a few bad eggs in any group of people, and that some people are just greedy and manipulative.

I think hiddenflask put it best. People can anonymously discuss and debate Christianity on the Internet, without their mom/dad/christian friends judging them. And then people start to realize that it really doesn't make a lot of sense.

The anonymity is key moreso than just the internet. How many people do you see debating it on Facebook vs tigerdroppings? I never see religious debates on Facebook, because anyone with half a brain knows it's best to stay out of that discussion when your name is displayed. If you don't then Aunt Sally will post about praying for you and it turns into mess.
