Part of the Buc-ees appeal is that you’re an hour away from the beach.

This is great news for Ruston! I went to my first Buc-ees last week in Richmond, Kentucky about 30 min south of Lexington. The place is huge, over 120 gas pumps and it was packed at 8pm. Free food, jerky and fudge samples plus the bbq brisket and sliced brisket sandwiches were delicious! Cleanest bathroom I've ever experienced on the road. Buc-ees is really a destination and not a stop along the road.

90% of them are nowhere near an hour from the beach. They started through Texas and not just the gulf area. I really don’t know where you got that from.

Ruston is crushing it right now! The new sports complex has been drawing huge travel ball crowds and packing the hotels and restaurants. Downtown markets and food trucks make it a nice place to visit and shop. And Squire Creek is just down the road.

This Buc-ee’s location will be just a short drive to beautiful Mount Driskill at a majestic 535 feet above sea level. Y’all can pick up an O2 shot canister there and head on up. And on the way back to I-20 swing by the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Site Memorial Marker south of Gibsland LA.

Well the grandson of the original owner has reopened the Hilltop Grocery in Bienville, LA at the foot of the mountain. Gas, deli, maybe beer, IDK I haven’t been in it. It’s the former home of the Old Tex statue on LA 9. While they were cleaning before renovation the American Pickers stopped by for a visit. Not sure if Old Tex was a part of that deal.
