Spot on. I have a friend that is the quintessential social butterfly. She always has some friend that she takes tons of pictures with, goes sailing, parties, everything. Then after a few months she tells me they got in some big fight over something and they aren't talking. Last couple of times this happened they were giving her a place to live and kicked her out.

OT newbs don't understand the game anymore... Your first few weeks you have to stay in the shadows and pick up post count in threads that noone gives a shite about. WOWYHI, OT Rate this girl, Lunch thread, etc. After you get over 100 posts this way you can start to actually give opinions on things as long as it's the general consensus. You have to be at least in your 2nd month and have 300+ posts before you can even think a contrarian thought.

Well I guess when I first met her she was more self-sufficient but yeah I guess that latter term is more accurate. But I refrain from calling her that.
