I know Seattle doesn’t rain as much as people think. It is just some weird stereotype probably because they have more cloudy days than anything. Just used it as an example.
I think Mobile is top 5 for total rainfall in inches per year. And differs for actual amount of rainy days.
Peering out my window I see it is sunny now but it was pouring earlier.
I just don’t remember so many days with actual rain.

people on TD complain about louisiana and talk about wanting to leave all the time, and justifiably so, but the only thing that actually makes me think about moving elsewhere is the weather. we have really shitty weather down here.

I've gotten gas there a couple of times. Port Townsend is a cool spot near there. It's being infiltrated though. I moved from Queen Anne in Seattle to Tacoma. Best decision I ever made. Tacoma has normals. Reminds me of Fort Worth before the Bass and Walmart money except with water and mountains in the background.

I left Tacoma in 2005 and it's worse than it was.
Traffic is a nightmare. Tacoma dome area used to be a slight inconvenience. Jesus H Christ it's a fricking mess now.
Too many damn people.
I miss a lot being in a small town sometimes but it doesn't take long being in the metro area for me to be ready to be back to my quiet little town.

The trick is to stay in north Tacoma and never get on the interstate. Head out 167 to go ski Crystal or hike Rainier.. out Hwy 16 across Tacoma Narrows to the peninsula. We're seeing 25% gain on residential year over year in my neighborhood. Can't beat it.
I was in Seattle downtown for a dentist appointment yesterday. Straight up ghost town up there.

I know the area well.
I don't live there and I'm just passing through. Tough to avoid the interstate or highways without going out of my way.

Sequim is dry and mostly a retirement community. It sits in a rain shadow and receives very little precipitation as compared to its neighbors Port Angeles and Port Townsend.
