Congrats arse. You rustled many jimmies with your post.
Rather than galavanting around this magnificent city and enjoying incredible weather, the NOLA haters are busy trying to convince themselves that whatever shithole concrete wasteland they call home is better than this amazing town.

Yeah, nothing as fun as it is when you’re 20.
Yes and no. The newness wears off, but there is a lot to be said for getting older and being able to afford better experiences.

I loved going to the parades as a child.
I loved going when I was in college and in my early 20s, partying hard.
I love going now, watching my own kids on ladders.
It may not be for everyone, but it is not something you grow out of, in my experience.
A huge outdoor party with good food, good music, booze, art, free stuff, satire, pretty girls, people from all walks of life. Hard to beat. Certainly can't be beat by any of the places where the ex-pats in this thread have moved to. If someone has moved to Paris, or Barcelona, or Rio, then yeah let's compare. But LOL at the critics in here who have moved to Texas or "the mountains."

My first memory of Mardi Gras was my dad putting me on his shoulders to try to catch a bead from Cheryl Ladd at Endymion. I didn’t really enjoy MG until the 80’s. You are not lying when you say that was a golden era.
