I have one of those stainless steel Japanese deep soak tubs (came with the house), good water pressure, and a big arse water heater. That thing still takes at least 30 min to fill and there isn’t enough hot water to get it above my shoulders.

We did this in the last 6 months or so for my Mom. She uses a walker some during the day, but is mostly in the wheelchair. A step in tub didn't make sense and they're pretty ugly. Her shower is huge with no door. It has a large pretty curtain. The tile work on the walls and the floor is very attractive. It doesn't look like a nursing home at all.
