For $8500. I was thrilled to take it home to mrs. Costello. Spent last night just driving if around and making sure the mechanic I took it to didn't miss anything.
Everything worked great!
Got up this morning and the check engine light is on. Went and had a diagnostic run on it and it came up with 2 codes: cylinder 4 is misfiring (or something like that; looks like a coil issue) and a faulty crank sensor.
The seller says he will repair the vehicle for free so that is nice. I know very little about this kind of thing. For those of you that do, how serious of a problem does this sound?

On my 06 Ford Supercrew, I had a coil sensor go out. That was back in 08, had no issues since. They did tell me though that it was fairly common

The coil and the sensor can be replaced. If that is all that is wrong then you got a good deal.

I really hope that's the case. Does anyone know anything about the other issue?

Crank sensor is probably related to the coil problem/ misfire problem. If not the crank sensor isn't very expensive and fairly easy to replace.

They don't call 'em 'Exploders' for nothing.

My 08 f150 had the coil issue. $160 for Ford to fix it. Not a major problem.
