I think it depends on how ingrained the habit is. And it can be just as liberating as it is painful.

I’ve done this with a few “easy” things, but if it’s a legit addiction/compulsion, yeah that will probably be hard.

Yes some weight loss prescription plans contain medication that curb cravings, one of them also curbs alcohol cravings as a part of drug. So I guess if you're on a medication like that trying to kick alcohol it could be helpful for sure.

You still have to figure out why you're drinking though because that medication is just treating the symptom, your alcoholism. So stop that medication and you're back to square one.
