That is quite a bit there sir. I took 80-120 mg a day for 9 months. Wasn't addicted. Obviously 300<120 though. Immediately after surgery I may have taken that much for a couple of weeks...

The first step of recovery is knowing you have a problem man.

Doubtful....again....only difference is the amount of Tylenol in the drugs

I highly doubt the pill heads are really wanting the most Tylenol they can score in a pill.

Interesting. I always had good experiences with morphine, although it came in crystaline form for injecting. I assumed the 30 mg tablets were equivalent in potency, although I've had no direct experience with them. Okay then, I'll switch my preference to Dilaudid, the 8 mg tablets. Please don't tell me they've fricked with Dilaudid—what's the world coming to when pharmaceutical Dilaudid has been stripped of its abuse potential.

Oh I have heard good things about morphine from people who have had it IV'ed in the hospital but I promise you the pills are garbage, even the biggest dope fiends just throw them away. Dilaudid is a much better choice!

Besides, all this is a moot point in my case. I'm just an old dope fiend grateful for the minor league high from the weaker, and for that reason more obtainable, opiates like Norco. The halcyon days of pharmaceutical opiates and cocaine and amphetamine are far behind me.

Back to the topic under discussion: eliminate the Tylenol from hydrocodone combinations and replace it with something tasty–like another opiate or soma or something. Let's get creative on this!

I say they make a pill that has 90mg of Oxycodone and 70mgs of hydrocodone and is instant release!!!

I can tell you from experience, and the drugs literature, that it is not.

When I say addictive, I'm talking about the physical symptoms you experience when you stop taking it (for a long time, of course). Severe flu-like symptoms and fever. I've seen it happen.

I've taken 300mgs a day for 9 months at a time, not had any for a few weeks, and after stopping I didn't feel ANY different. Maybe if you don't use it as prescribed it can be addictive but if you use it the way your doctor tells you to you won't feel a thing when you stop.

Isn't tolerance a sign of dependence?

When I stopped taking in December cold turkey. I never had a single one the symptoms you are describing. I know what people go through, it never happened to me. Period.

I am talking about purely recreational use. I believe around 10-12 50mg per day.

quote:

Withdrawal Withdrawal symptoms may occur if ULTRAM® (tramadol hcl) is discontinued abruptly (see also Drug Abuse And Dependence). Reported symptoms have included anxiety, sweating, insomnia, rigors, pain, nausea, tremors, diarrhea, upper respiratory symptoms, piloerection, and rarely hallucinations. Other symptoms that have been reported less frequently with ULTRAM® (tramadol hcl) discontinuation include panic attacks, severe anxiety, and paresthesias. Clinical experience suggests that withdrawal symptoms may be avoided by tapering ULTRAM® (tramadol hcl) at the time of discontinuation.

I do, and I never said it hasn't been prescribed as a muscle relaxer, but I can assure you Valium is not the most effective muscle relaxer there is and it sure as hell is not more effective than Soma

Is an initial high tolerance to opioids at least partially weight related?

If you take that much you should be more worried about seizures than withdrawal!

I've seen that too, and its pretty scary. Its just easy since you can still get huge amounts of tramadol from online pharmacies. Not sure how its been able to stay off the DEA's scheduled drugs list.
