HVAC help (involves a Nest Thermostat)...

Nest thermostat in question is controlling a Carrier packaged gas heat/electric air unit that supplies heat and a/c to my downstairs. If it makes a difference, I live in an older home that is built on pier and beam with duct work to downstairs coming in from crawlspace. The unit is prob 5 or 6 years old - was fairly new when we bought this house in late 2013.
So it feels warm in the house when I run the unit, but the fan that one sees when looking down at the unit is not turning off at all, i.e. it is running continuously. The thermostat is set on 68, and temp reads 71 and has been staying there. Even when I turn the heat off, the fan stays on, in fact, the only way I can stop the fan from turning is to turn the breaker off. I am on hold with their support for 45 minutes now.
I have no problem calling a pro, just like to troubleshoot if I can, and I've seen some HVAC pros post here...took the panel off of the unit, and I do not see any loose wires going into the circuit board. Same with wiring of the nest (I have Y1, W1, G, C and RH connected). Oh and it is around 35F outside here if that matters at all. Sorry if this needs to be on tech board - I know there is some overlap here with the smart thermostat thing.
I know there are some HVAC pros that hang out here, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The fan schedule it get turned on by accident? If that’s not it I got nothing, not a HVAC guy.

Did look at that already, and that can be confusing with Nests, don't think that is the situation.

when a gas heater trips to high temp sensor it runs the fan continuously to prevent a fire.
if its a heat pump with gas heater then the heat pump is doing all of the heating and the gas heat is for extra heat when needed in very cold temps.
call a service man out to fix it, there is nothing YOU can do and there are dozens of things to check far too complicated to explain to an amateur plus some require shock hazards.
if there is a fan switch on the stat make sure it is set to "auto" and not "on" because "on" makes the fan run 24/7 non-stop, the fan switch should always be left in the "auto" position.
