a reputable roofer should accompany the insurance adjustor if possible to lobby for what work needs to be done

Yes, my roofer came the day my insurance adjustor was there. If your adjustor is good, he won't miss anything. The adjustor that came out was putting window screens, and even marked down that my AC unit radiator tines needed to be straightened!

Stupid question but after talking to my insurance adjuster on the phone, I explained I needed my roof tarped as I had some leaks I was unaware of until the storms this week.

He recommended a roofer to me. I called the guy and we discussed the tarp job - very nice fella. I ended up needing it done ASAP so I went with a quick out of pocket cash person who could do within an hour.

After talking to the roofer my adjuster recommended, he stated he would be on site with the adjuster this weekend to do the assessment and take pictures for the adjuster. He’s not my roofer - more seems like the guy that helps the adjuster on the roof etc.

I assume this is normal practice? Anything I should be aware of with this situation? I could end up using him as my roofer to do the repairs/replacement.

Yea that was before Trump gutted OSHA

Under Donald Trump, while a deadly disease has been spreading through America’s workplaces, OSHA has had fewer inspectors than at any point since the 1970s. The International Labor Organization recommends having one labor inspector for every 10,000 people; the U.S. now has one for every 83,207. Meanwhile, Trump has tried to slash OSHA’s funding in every one of his budget proposals (Congress has repeatedly restored it) and has never bothered to nominate a leader for the agency. Almost half the senior positions at OSHA remain vacant.
