Pretty funny story. The deer was just making it a fair fight.
If the deer didn't survive the shot, at least he got a blow in on the dude that shot him.

Only time i really felt scared was while hiking thru Sicily Island Hills hiking trail in my Chacos. The trail is poorly marked, and goes thru knee high foliage in some spots. While going thru a bottom i scared three snakes that looked like cottonmouths. Won't go back there without my Danner Boots.

Ultimately some of these guys feel the need to carry pistols to the grocery store, so you won't convince them that one isn't needed in the woods.

I don't think it would be able to strike with the temp only being 35. Thats cold for a snake.
