Beetles would beat out Ursines, elephants, and dolphins to human level sentience and tool use. Conquer space and leave behind a giant statue as a monument to their escape to the stars away from our sun going supernova.

Chernobyl is a good idea of life after us.

Wolves make a comeback.

National Geographic or maybe History channel before it went full retard, had a miniseries about this. The consensus was that in a few thousand years there would be very little evidence we were ever here, apart from the ruins of a few megastructures like Hoover Dam.

It was Life After People, and it was a very interesting series. Basically, D.C. reverts to being a literal swamp and L.A. becomes a desert, fairly quick. And in about 1,000 to 5,000 years, the only readily visible signs of our former existence are the ones made out of rock/stone.
