except these numbers would hurt that narrative

These were held back to make the last 2 weeks numbers look worse. Now the control is ramped up and they can dump all these negatives.

Second level is people will see 4000+ positives and ot notice lowered positive rate. Its genius really

I'm convinced there's another dimension of society that we all can't see, yet they check in from time to time to affect our numbers.

I'll put this here until the daily thread is posted:

Total cases by collection date on or after 11/6/2020 - 19,606, plus hospitalizations equals 20,578. The number I posted yesterday using the same methodology was 18,819. There are 1,759 more active cases today than yesterday, an increase of 9.35%. 2,923 of the 4,814 new cases are from test dates during this time. The oldest case dates to June 25th.

It's difficult to imagine there are that many fools that would line up to get tested.

Yet they include it under "new" cases. I see no problem with them including them amongst the total cases, but "new" cases should be limited to tests down in the past xx days. I would think anything over 5 days should not be considered/reported as new

hile this will result in a significant increase in reported COVID cases today, the Department will reallocate these backlogged lab results back to their specimen collection dates, which range from 9/12-11/18. Of the 2,538 total backlog, 1,038 COVID cases date back to Halloween (10/31).
