those wrist bp machines are junk. if you buy one for the home, make sure you get the one that goes around bicep.

3-4 times a week. On the same medicine as OP as of Jan 1.

I got to a point where I was 140/90 all the damn time and felt like shite, tingling fingers and toes, etc. Felt like I could feel the pressure building in my arteries and veins when I’d get stressed.

Had a B12 deficiency as well. Feel way better now that I’m on the BP and got my B12 back up.

The Omron monitor at home is way off. It’s always 140/90 and then at the doctors office with a stethoscope it’s 120/78 or so.

I’ve had several doctors tell me that they wouldn’t prescribe blood pressure medicine to those between 130-140/85-90. They said 140 and higher and 90 and higher would be prescribed medication.

Buy a monitor from Walgreens or CVS for like $30

I didn’t realize people without issues just check their pressure all the time. I guess at 40 I should. I don’t even really know what it’s supposed to be.

I took part in the Covid vaccine trial and they would take my pressure when I went in for a visit as I gave blood while there. Every time they used the electronic one it was always high so they would do it manually and would be fine. Happened 3 different times.

135 systolic is the medicine cut off for most doctors.

Of course if it’s mildly elevated beyond that, most will suggest to try lifestyle changes first

Mine is an OMRON machine my wife brought home from her clinic. It wraps around my bicep.

When I first started having issues I was 160/100 regularly. Doc put me on a low dose med and it helped but my legs and ankles would swell up so I quit taking it and just changed my diet and started mediation and it all of sudden went down on its own.

I still check it daily or at least every other day. I have it right between my coffee maker and Kentwood water dispenser, once in the morning before coffee and once at night before bed when I get my water.

Never. And it’s always perfect.

Do you think some people live long and normal healthy lives with slightly elevated blood pressure? I think that if you’re hovering around 130 or so and maybe 83-86 you’re going to be just fine.

I had a stroke a couple of years ago, so I still take mine roughly twice a day. Mine runs about 130/85 morning and night, but for some reason it bottoms to about 100/60 about 1PM every day. I feel a lot better when it is a bit high, but I keep it down now.

Once a year. It has been 130/90 since I was 14.

Started me on 5mg of Amlodipine then bumped me up to 10mg that’s when ankles and feet started swelling and said frick this shite. I quit taking it.

I still have something like 20 tabs left if I ever feel I need to start taking them again.

This is a really bad OT contest but a year ago my BP was 180/120 and I was actually having symptoms, which is unusual. I felt like shite. On Lisinopril and it's normal now.

I’m sure. High blood pressure is just a risk factor unless extremely high

I check mine every now and then on the machine at the gym. Its high after a workout and normal before; I'm starting to rethink all that exercise crap.

I've got a bad case of white coat syndrome. Every single time for the last 35 years if in a doctors office, it registers ridiculous off the charts like 220 over 110. They want to always call code blue and rush me to emergency. They ask if I'm dizzy or have a headache....nope.

After a few years, a doc suggested the wife take it for me at home or outside of a clinic or Doctor's office. It ALWAYS comes in at like 125-135 over 70 or something in that neighborhood.

They even put "White Coat" in my records, so they don't freak out when I go for a checkup or procedure or something.

Really weird.....
