Haynes spoke at a professional seminar we had years back. (NDT)
Hearing him tell the story of United Flight's 232 issues on that ill-fated flight was hair-raising to say the least. I can't remember how many pilots /crews tried to fly that a/c's problems on the simulator after the incident but if I remember right there were a total of "0" that were even able to get the plane to the airfield, much less attempt a landing with it.
One incredibly cool professional pilot and THE man in the right place at the right time....much like Sully.
