Me

Went out of state for college, didn't care to return.

Cleaner, better weather, better schools, COL the same, plus no petty bull shite like inspection stickers or cops covertly hidden when the speed limit goes from 45 to 25 to 35 in less than half a mile

Moved to DFW and then Birmingham for education and professional training.

I realized I enjoyed living in those places a lot more than I ever enjoyed Louisiana.

We actually tried moving back to BR about 2001-2002. Was there almost 5 years. But living and working in BR just sucked so hard even before Katrina.

Was recruited by friends to come to work here in north Mississippi and I ain't ever leaving.

I haven't seen it anywhere other than the shitty, small, north louisiana towns and all the small communities along HWY 1 going from Donaldsonville to Grand Isle and I have lived in 3 other states.

The cops in other places are at least sitting on the side of the road in plain sight

Grew up in Louisiana and went to LSU. Got my Air Force commission upon graduation and lived in Sacramento since I got off active duty. I have thought moving to a state close to Louisiana but I don’t want to leave the weather here.

Lived in La from about 1969-1994.

Got the itch to do something more exciting than estimate steel costs, sold the house and took the family to Alaska.

Everything seemed fake there. I dont miss it at all.
