That’s because liberals don’t understand the difference between liquid and non-liquid assets.

Yep…paper valuations in the stock market are probably the least understood metric. For example, Tesla is valued in the stock market higher than some traditional car manufacturers while only having a very small percentage of new car sales.

The same has been true with tech companies since the 1990’s, the latest and greatest technology gets all the interest and money, the stocks open at 25 dollars in an IPO, next thing they are trading at 200 dollars. The creator is now an instant billionaire on paper while creating little to no revenue.

Then when the investors come looking for profit, and when they can’t find it, then it becomes a search for the bottom, the stock crashes leaving the investors broke while the creator if he got out at the right time worth billions, see Mark Cuban. Unless, you have a patient or fanboy investors who will keep dumping money blindly until hopefully someone buys this problem, or they can find profit, see Amazon and Facebook.

Technically, he doesn't lose any value from this purchase.

Tesla lost $126 billion in value after the deal so I'd bet he lost some too. Most of his assets are tesla stock.

give every school a billion dollars

There are only 273 schools? That's less than 6 per state.

Bigger than 350, but smaller than 350B that’s for sure.
