My great aunt lived on oriole. didnt flood for Katrina to the best of my knowledge. Loved that area.

I believe Lakeview came to be from hundreds of Irish dying to make a canal and then having that canal filled in decades later

I didn't even know that was reclaimed land. Interesting that it is higher than the surrounding areas. Makes sense if it was meant to also serve as a protective barrier to the lower areas around Bayou St. John.
