While a common sentiment, it's just factually incorrect. There are many winning bettors out there that know very little about the underlying games.

I'd venture to guess if you had to separate the skills there are many more profitable people on the line shopping, arb, exploiting bad lines side of the spectrum than on the modeling side.

I honestly
Don’t like casinos

I play poker with buddies at the house but don’t like cigarette smells

Parlay is when you bet on multiple things to happen and if they do the reward is much bigger

I’m gonna lose my 4 teamer tonight because of the rockets but I bet 4 teams would hit $10 to win $100

I do mostly straights and throw in a parlay or 2

NFL is the only sport I bet on and I do ok. I don't bet with the house note though but I can beat the books most years. My greed is what gets me. If I would bet the same every game I'd be OK but I don't. Certain games I'll pound and if I lose I start chasing which seldom turns out good. But I know the NFL and I have a system I use. I
