I think that is a big difference in the raising of boys and girls.. I have 2 boys over 11 (and yeah no need to spank them now taking xbox live away seems to hell for them)and a girl that is 6. I have to spank the boys on occasion... My girl.. If I look at her wrong.. tears roll.. It's honestly insane..

Same exact thing with my little girl. It's like if she does something that does not meet my approval her whole world just comes crashing down.

The old adage that all little girl's crave their daddy's approval is very much true from my experience.

Yeah girls are different. I can count on one hand how many times I whipped my two girls when they were growing up. My twin boys though? Not so much.

My little girl will push thing much more with my wife than she will with me. As for our son, he was the typical little boy in that every so often he'd cross that line and I'd have to spank him.

The thing with us is we've always reserved the spanking as punishment for only "serious" things like telling a lie or something. For minor things we'd use methods like grounding or the corner.

I feel your pain. I can't recall the exact details but she was doing something not long ago and almost fell and hurt herself. When I saw her almost fall I yelled out her name, not to get on to her really but more of a spinal reflex/panic type thing. The poor girl just melted for like 10 minutes and would not get out of my lap for the next hour or so.

And I'm dreading her teenage years like you wouldn't believe... That's when they'll start pulling really stupid shite... And the monthly emotional rollercoaster that follows

There really not as bad as people make it out to be. Middle school is a little bumpy but when high school comes around they will be fine.

FTR, I do not advocate a "go get a belt and come back for your 20 lashes". I'm talking about a swat on the hand or backside.

Yeah, being the father of a teen daughter is a scary thought. This is especially true considering how overly sexualized this world makes kids at a younger and younger age nowadays. All you as her father can do though is raise her right and trust that the solid foundation you've built in her young formative years will serve her well later in life.....

... That and make sure every stupid teen boy in a 75 mile radius knows you're good with spending the rest of your days in death row if they lay a finger on your little girl.

southern farmer who is all to wiki right now talking about intelligent design, would get by the very same wiki when it came to his substance abuse.

I've never even had to do that to my son or daughter. Maybe I just have well behaved kids and I would act different if they weren't?

I lurk around the forums a lot and Wiki makes a lot of sense on many, but not all, issues to me. But I don't wanna be labeled his disciple.

I didn't see this post when I made my earlier one.

Yeah, you're right. He would probably destroy about it. It's easy to destroy somebody on something bad like that.
