You guys take Ted Nugent, Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood and Scott Baio seriously
If you don't take Chuck Norris seriously then I hope you are at peace with God.

It's kind of an interesting situation though, right? I have no issue at all with anyone feeling they want to have a voice and express beliefs. We're doing that here after all.
I think the issue becomes twofold. First, celebrities mistaking their celebrity in one area (acting, sports, music, etc) and the bully pulpit it gives them as a general sense of self importance whereby WHATEVER they think is important. It isn't. Secondly, their millions of followers and fans give them the belief that what they say has more value than the average person based on their millions of likes and follows. It doesn't.
Personally, I don't really pay any attention to what celebrities have to say about things when it comes to things not in their wheelhouse. Or at best, I certainly don't assume them to be an expert on whatever it is simply because I heard about their point of view because they are a popular signer or actor.
All that being said, this critique only seems to be the case for most so long as the celebrity voices an opinion that differs from one's own. Then they need to shut up, stay in their lane, just dribble, etc. As soon as they agree with the person, it's super alright and we need more folks like them

I don't think anyone gets political news from late night tv hosts. It's just for laughs..

Because I can separate facts from entertainment.

I think Stewart's Daily Show was (regrettably) a primary news source for a portion of society for a while.
But no one has come close to filling the void he left.

Easy, I don't.
I'll never understand why people get their panties in a wad over the politics of entertainers. If my plumber told me that he was pro-Trump or pro-Clinton, I'd just say, "Good for you. Is my sink fixed?"
Just turn the channel.

On the one hand you have a point. Celebrities are frequently shallow, self centered, and less intelligent than they give themselves credit for. OTOH that was 15 years ago and people do change and mature.

A reality tv star is our President. There are some other actors that conservatives take seriously like the Terminator and this guy...
There is no difference. Everyone should realize that both sides love to prop up celebrities for their 'causes'. Don't pretend like this is something only the left does.
