I learned not along ago temperatures are read in the shade

So 27 degrees mean it’s 27 in the shade. With sun, it’s actually well above freezing

Louisiana Clerks of Court are like a bizarro Waffle House index. If there's a natural disaster anywhere in the state they all close. Those frickers in our courthouse have been MIA all week and we only got a light dusting of snow.

Are you in Natchitoches? I know they didn't get much there and I think much of it was gone by the afternoon. Friend lives there.

Surface streets in the Mid-City area are all pretty much free and clear of ice and snow. Still lots of it on roofs and yards but the blacktop streets by my house are clear and actually getting dried out.

Rouses on Carrollton was listed as closed yesterday but they are open for business as usual today.

There’s a district court in south Louisiana that’s already closed four times in last 13 months for reasons not related to the weather.
