My adult daughter took a greyhound from Atlanta to B'Ham due to lack of flight availability. Uber driver literally walked her inside the bus station and waited with her because of the homeless/drug addicts/zombies milling around. Really nice of him... we had no idea it was that bad.

Rode the Greyhound a bunch when I was in the service, but this was back in the sixties.

The new location is further east than EaDo. It’s next too Gus Worthem Golf Course, hope they course management pays for security patrols of the parking

I just looked up one way trips from Houston to N.O., and you can get Spirit flights cheaper than a Greyhound ride

I’m pretty sure that EADO is about to crater since the plan to relocate I-45 to the east side of downtown next to 59 has overcome all legal challenges. Over the next 15 years we will likely see that part of town be demolished.

I believe the short (2-3 years?) term will hurt, but unless I am missing something, arent they only widening an existing freeway? Most of the viable East Downtown district is a few blocks off the freeway corridor anyway correct?

Long term, the newer infrastructure with actual entrance and off ramps would likely drive more activity in that area. Right now, its a multi block, pain in the arse drive on surface streets to get on any freeway from Minute Maid/EADO. I do agree though, easier freeway access will change the current vibe in that area.
