What's the easier commute in Houston? Woodlands to Beltway 8 on I45, or Cinco Ranch to Beltway 8 on I10. Got a lot of variables as to where we are looking to buy, but its boiling down to these two areas since I'll be working on the north and west side. Both are close enough to the same commute without rush hour traffic. I've only done the I10 commute during rush hour. How does 45 compare?

And inside the loop is out of the question due to prices.

Traffic is bad in the morning coming in from Katy

I live in Katy I get on the road between 5:35-5:45 am and it takes me 25-35 minutes to go 8 miles. I work in the park ten area.

Traffic in the evenings seems to actually flow better

Both are bad

I'd rather have the Katy commute though

Just moved inside the loop from Katy, shite sucked

Equally bad. Decide where to live on other factors.

Thanks. I'm fine with equally bad. Just didn't want to find out later that 45 is insanely worse. I feel like the Woodlands offers a better chance for my wife to find work close to the house. We aren't counting Katy out yet though.

Both are bad and going to get worse. Where are you going on the beltway? That can get backed up in certain areas as well.

The offices are actually at I10 and the beltway and I45 and the beltway. So the only time if get on the toll road is to commmute between the two.

Woodlands to Greenspoint area is an easy commute, esoecially for Houston. Of course I used to commute all the way to the energy corridor so I could be bias.

Yea, then both will be about the same. You'll hit heavier traffic on both once you get closer to the beltway, but it won't be terrible.

Katy commute is better, but don't do it man; the place is 1/2 as nice as the woodlands.

The key commute wise for the woodlands is to live close to 45. My buddy lives by the Palmer and it takes like 10-15 min just to get to 45 in the mornings.

If you aren't sold on living in Katy or The Woodlands there's plenty of relatively affordable neighborhoods on the southwest and northwest corners of town, just outside the loop.

If you get on I-10 in cinco before 6 you can pretty much go the speed limit. The tollway doesn't start for a couple miles which sucks

And it ends before barker cypress on the way back. And it pretty much doesn't matter what time you head home, you'll be in traffic. It's not quite as bad as morning traffic though

I started The Woodlands to La Porte a few weeks ago. The first week had me ready to tear my hair out. By the second week it was no big deal - you'll adapt.

Evening traffic is worse than morning imo.
