The mainline, or the cheapest cars on the market, have been. Most of the higher end cars have more detail, but that's why they cost more.

Hot Wheels lost the licensing for Monster Jam a couple or so years ago. The company that produces them now has done a better job than I thought they would, though. I just saw a boxed set with like 16 of them, and for the most part the castings look good. Their tires/wheels are a little cheaper looking.

Son loved playing with HW when he was youngster and his mom would put a new HW in his Christmas stocking.....zoom forward to he's now 36 and mom still puts a HW in his Christmas stocking.
