I find the deeper I keep going into a subject sometimes I hit that wall you are describing. I need a break from it.

Short answer is yes, many times, but it tends to be oversaturation on a specific topic.

Take a step back and focus on something else completely unrelated. Your brain probably needs some time to sort and digest it. When you come back to it, you might be surprised at how much more you understand it.

Sometimes when I'm really stoned, I wander around my wood shop trying to remember what I was supposed to be doing.

When that happens, I sit in my stool, light up my pipe and listen to music. No reason to rush and I'll remember at some point. Might as well take it easy and enjoy every minute of it.

Anyone ever get to a point where they fundamentally can’t take in new information?

I saw that episode of "Married With Children" when Al Bundy was tutoring his daughter Kelly on sports trivia to be on a game show and Bud warned him that she would eventually top out and start forgetting things.

Then the doorbell rings and she looks puzzled and asks "What's that" and they figured she was full..............
