Ha! Got you both. That's the emblem of the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment. They were formed shortly before the outbreak of WWII but never actually parachuted into combat. Disbanded about halfway through the war.
Good one.
The fact their patch looked so much like a Raider Bn patch told me they had to be Marines but when you said they were not Raiders I ran out of ideas.

While we're going down the emblem road....
What unit used this?
What unit used this?

The patch is a Marine Raider patch other than the parachute.
It's actually not the Marine Raider patch. It's the 1st Marine Division patch.
All ist Marine Division units use the blue background with the Southern Cross constellation as their background. Raiders had the skull, Parachute Regiment had the parachute.

I guess they all have the same inspiration. Here's a Raider patch from WWII...
ETA. and I just noticed this one as well...
I know one is Raider, the other is Parachute, but the other two... What are they? The one in the top left looks like an AA unit. I have no idea about the one on the bottom right though.

Another, although easy (don't even need to reverse search) emblem:

Nope

I'm going to guess it's the 58th Bomber Wing.

I've got no idea on those two. I can tell you that the style was adopted after the battle of Guadalcanal. The Southern Cross representing service in the southern hemisphere where the North Star isn't visible and Marines would use the Southern Cross to get their bearings.

Well, the group was in the 58th BW - so you get partial points. Will keep it up for a bit before revealing.

Learned something right there.

Out of tradition they still teach you how find and use the southern cross before they show you the North Star at the school of infantry to this day.

That I did not know. Will have to ask some of my Marine friends about that. Intersting stuff!

OK. I guess nobody will get this. The emblem is for the British 7th Armored Division. They're more well known by the nickname the "Desert Rats".

Ah, I see. Is that where the old show "The Rat Patrol" got its name?
