Alright, the markings is for the Iraqi Air Force during WWII.
The aircraft is a German made BF-110....
Here's one to stew over until later....

I think Darth's is Bulgaria...
I don't know plane types and designs, but I know my insignia's and markings pretty well from that time period.

That's the experimental twin boom P-51 variant the Army Air Corps looked at as a possible long range bomber escort. They were not operational for long due to the advent of jets. WE used them some in Korea. Can't remember the exact nomenclature.

No. The marking on that BF-110 is for the Romanian Air Force during WWII.
Here, let's go back to WWI....
What country's national markings are on this aircraft?
HINT: It's not France.

The solders are Australian or New Zealanders.
Picture is from WWI.
Cannot make out what make of motorcycle that is but I'm guessing it's an Indian.
The side car has a heavy MG that I cannot make out. The ANZAC's used Vickers MG's but that particular weapon does not appear to be a Vickers.

Ahh so close. I had to do a report on Eastern European countries that were caught up in the war that switched sides. Both Bulgaria and Romania were originally Axis, but switched to Allied before the war ended. I knew I had seen that insignia before

No & No
The markings are actually American.
We did not adopt the star insignia until later in the war.

Are you sure? The Nieuport was a French plane I thought...
ETA: Ah saw your post. That's unique. Did we use them in the Air Corps or something?

The aircraft is indeed French made, but this particular one was used by the US and has early US markings.

Early on we used the "bullseye" but only for a short while before going with the star...
