It's American. I've seen it before. It's an experimental 1920s era heavy bomber and only one or two were built but I've got no idea what it was called.

You're all over it. It was the Witteman Lewis XNBL-1 and represents America's first attempt at producing a heavy strategic bomber.

Among other accomplishments, the Phantom II settled the debate on whether a fighter needs a gun.

Except that pilots in Vietnam complained mightly that they didn't have one and could have used one on many occasions.

I think the Israelis use a mounted gun pod on theirs.

That's why we built the F-4E.......with a gun.

ETA And every U.S. fighter since has carried a gun.

I believe they're still using them for RF (recon), but still armed.

Israel did - but in addition to Turkey & Iran, they're still in active service with Greece, Egypt, Japan, and South Korea.

Yep. I'll wait about giving the name. And this aircraft holds really not just one but two distinctions. I'll give a few more minutes.

Close... But she was actually the first purpose built ASW (anti-submarine warfare) carrier based aircraft of the US Navy. She is also the largest single engine propeller driven carrier based aircraft in history.

There were actually two types of these aircraft. One held the sonar equipment while the other held the weapons. They worked as a single unit.

That's a Dutch made Fokker G1. That one appears to have markings of the Czech AF.
