This is a fake stat that is just so commonly repeated now the statistic is too hard to count so someone group did super lazy match and just took marriages in a year na divorces in a year (i.e. there were 10,000 marriages this year and also 5,000 divorces this year) also, even when done the hard way the stats usually count “marriages” so serial divorces get to count multiple times while those married and stay together count as one marriage

Your stats are off too. You are giving an incomplete view of marriage. Fewer and fewer people are even bothering to get married anyway. That’s the first thing. The marriage rate is plummeting. Secondly, the reputable studies I have seen have the divorce rate still around 30-40%. That’s still extremely high. Women initiate 70-80% of all divorces. It’s still a terrible deal for almost all men. That is the reason it’s collapsing. Men control access to relationships and they are avoiding marriage in the West. Women aren’t going around asking for men to marry them last I checked. Welcome to feminism and women are getting exactly what they asked for.

In 1960, 72% of adults were married, but by 2010 that number had dropped to 51%.

I saw a Bloomberg study that they estimate rates will be below 50% for the first time in history by 2030.

1. How long were you married ? 2. Who filed for the divorce ? 3. Why did they file for divorce ?

It all depends on which marriage we’re talking about.

It’s funny how some women think that there’s this pool of rich successful men that are looking for a woman that is overweight, doesn’t work, isn’t into intimacy and just wants to sit around and complain and drink wine every day ….. that is their age or younger.

Good luck with that.

My ex actually works, but you nailed the other attributes. She makes great money. I do as well, she just made more than me, then determined that I was beneath her bc I made less, did all the housework, yard work, and took care of our kids 20 or more weeks a year so she could travel for work.

Marriage counseling was quite interesting to say the least.

At this point marriage is not salvageable as a public institution in the West. Better to just get the government completely out of it. Let people have whatever civil partnerships they want, but no more marriages. The Churches and whoever else will still have their marriage ceremonies.
A "civil partnership" would just have the same parameters as a legal marriage in terms of what happens with the property and children if the partners split up. Effectively no difference/point.

Don't you know it's none of these guys faults and it's just because women are crazy?

I can be realistic about my own situation. I wasn’t a saint. I got too crazy with the bottle on weekends. I’d sleep off too many days. And I did deal with depression. That being said, I wouldn’t have left her if she did that to me without putting in more effort.

It’s hard to put much blame on myself when she was seeing my friend behind my back and didn’t want to go to marriage counseling. I didn’t have a chance. She found her out and ran with it.
