One of he best sitcom moments in history, the Thanksgiving episode
Had to watch it again on YT after reading this^.
One of the comments was spot on.
quote:
The true brilliance of this scene is that we are never actually shown the unfolding disaster, we are TOLD it and we end up visualising the whole scene in our imaginations. This is exactly how comedy (and drama) on radio worked in the medium's golden age. We are experiencing radio comedy through a TV show.
"Oh the humanity." A quote from the Hindenburg disaster.

Loved when he explained he bought his clothes at a golf shop in Western Kentucky.

Best put down on Herb,
Herb leaning over Jennifer's desk whispering "Jenny-poo, how about me and you grabbing a little gusto later on."
Jennifer, "Herb, you know I don't like little gusto's."

The funniest single line ever uttered in the history of TV sitcoms came from WKRP. After a Thanksgiving promotion approved by the General Manager in which the station dropped live turkeys from a helicopter, after which the turkeys crashed to their deaths. Mr Carlson, the General Manager says, “As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly”.
I've rewatched that show on YT too many times to count. So darn funny!

Robin’s widow wrote and article about his battle with the disease. “ The monster in my husbands head” I think is the title. Very interesting but terribly sad.

He was born in Little Rock.
The Hog mug was in a lot of scenes.

Turkeys can fly. They aren’t ostriches, and sure are lazy so seem entirely terrestrial, but they fly.
Maybe the fat farm raised ones can’t, hence the joke, but I would have missed it. First time I heard the WKRP clip I thought they were talking about frozen turkeys from the supermarket being chucked out of the chopper, but that was because I know turkeys can fly.
