It was reported to John Gotti was responsible for killing Tommy DeSimone

I was watching a documentary on tv a few weeks ago (I don't remember what it was called) and Henry said Tommy was a complete homocidal maniac. He would go out and kill civilians to try out a new gun.

Goodfellas has to be one of the most overrated mob movies ever.
goodfellas was entertaining, but it's not any better than say... wolf of wall street IMO.

Go pull up the wiki pages of the five families. There's actually a surprising number of shite that still goes down in New York.

Yeah, I've read that Pesci's character was mild compared to the real thing

I think hill was more full of shite than he was a badass
The movie definitely propped him up.
He admits that though.

At the end of Henry's life, last decade probably, he was not in need of protection. I guess everybody he could hurt was dead or those he pissed off were dead?
What he did was a straight trip to the morgue but he never violated omerta.
And yea the old timers were dead when he got popped in the 2000s

Most families from the heyday are still around. Rico put a dent in them but now they are 'back to the caves'. Basically just new avenues to make money.
Drugs were a very profitable albeit risky venture that took down a ton of people.

Some good documentaries out there on other maniacs.
Roy Demeo and his crew. Killed probably 100 people, maybe upwards of 200. Would completely dismember the bodies in his club.
Tommy Karate. Killed something like 60 plus people. Had his own graveyard in a wildlife preserve. Protected land where no one could build.
Richard Kuklinski. Rumored to kill over 100 people. Practiced killing homeless people before becoming a mob hitman

I wonder if Lefty had as many bodies as they said in Donnie Brasco.

9/11 was probably the best thing that happened to the mob in decades

From what I've read it's pretty high. Like 30 or so.
What did the movie say?

Yea you right.
Speaking of the Feds, I've always wondered why Hoover let the mob run wild. The story I've read that makes sense is that they had sex pictures of him with young boys so he ignored them forever

Heard the same thing too. As much as he was in everyone's arse (no pun intended) it always made me think he was a fool to think that someone wasn't watching the watchers.

Yeah I think that's what the movie said. Two or three dozen.

Meyer Lansky supposedly got the pictures, and was one of the few non-Sicilians to become a made man.

How tf do you get pics of the president having sex with kids? I have so many questions.
Posted on 6/12/17 at 9:27 pm to GreatLakesTiger24
I wonder if he ever found a good italian joint, or died eating egg noodles and ketchup like a frickin shnook.
Posted on 6/12/17 at 9:28 pm to GreatLakesTiger24
I totally read that as Hillary Clinton.
Posted on 6/12/17 at 9:30 pm to GreatLakesTiger24
J Edgar Hoover
They kind of hint at it in Boardwalk Empire. J. Edgar basically obstructs and downplays every part of their mob investigation
