I have to say - despite the fact that it makes my task here much harder, I am pleasantly surprised at how hard it is to find personal info in the age of way too much personal info being available at people's fingertips.

I would look up their units as said and maybe Facebook the unit. That would probably be the fastest way without dealing with beaurocratic bs.

Were the guys young at the time? If there's a good a chance they are still in government work you may be able to track them down that way.

Are you talking about 1986? Where were they? If they were in the middle of some stuff there's probably a good chance the group maintains contact in some fashion.
