Heidi Broussard's Father Wearing LSU Cap

I saw an interview with Heidi Broussard's parents (the woman found murdered in Houston yesterday) on Channel 13 in Houston. Her father was wearing an LSU ball cap. Her mother didn't speak but the father did, and he had a S. Louisiana accent. Saw on another post that the poster claims she is originally from Lake Charles.

Does anyone know anything definitive about this origin? One of the worst and most depressing crimes in a long time, considering that the woman who probably murdered her was considered her "best friend." Poor father, sweet little baby, and 6 year-old son.
